Lateral Inspections

Insituform is now in the Sewer Lateral Inspection Business!
Prior to the Corunna Project, 
Insituform sub-contracted sewer lateral video inspection work. 
For the Corunna Project, they have now purchased a state-of-art lateral inspection system to perform this service in-house!

This high-tech system has been added to their Sewer Main Video Inspection Truck. They are seen here setting up on Cherry Street for one of their first inspections.

Insituform's new state-of-art camera is comprised of a double camera system capable of reaching up to 150 feet into a Service Lateral from the Sewer Main.

Seen here, above ground, is the Lateral Camera being launched from the Main Camera. A swivel attachment allows the operator to direct the camera in any direction.

Once positioned into the opening of the Lateral Connection, the Main Camera then pushes the Lateral Camera up the lateral (customer sewer connection).

Absent encountering heavy roots or collapse in the Sewer Lateral, the Lateral Cameral can be pushed to the foundation of the customer's structure (~150' maximum).

Customers with Lateral Problems will be notified of the nature of their defect by the City of Corunna Department of Public Works. All video work is being recorded and provided to the City of Corunna for further analysis and customer review if requested.
